Ninety Years of Bootmaking Excellence
In honor of Danner's 90th anniversary, we updated the iconic Mountain Trail with premium materials. The Mountain Trail was called one of the best hiking boots ever made by Backpacker magazine when it was first introduced in the '60s. This version is made with Horween Chromexcel? leather, legendary for its quality and finish. The Vibram? Roccia outsole has the same tread pattern as the original Mountain Trail, but is much lighter in weight thanks to Vibram? Newflex technology.

- Horween Leather
- Chromexcel leather is produced in the U.S. using time-honored techniques and formulas that were developed nearly 100 years ago. Chromexcel is comfortable, durable and develops a beautiful worn-in look over time. This natural leather treatment provides a slightly unique aesthetic for each hide, which may result in some variation amongst pairs of boots. On any boot that uses Horween Chromexcel leathers, you may see a slight amount of blooming, which is a natural characteristic of that type of leather.
- Retro One Piece Leather Upper
- Our one-piece leather design eliminates openings in the tongue area to help keep out debris and water. It also creates a simple finish with minimal seams.
- Leather Lined
- This boot features a leather lining for added comfort and a seamless mold to your foot.
- Two Lace Options
- Because you can never have too many laces, this pair comes with an alternate pair.
- Vibram? Roccia Outsole
- Using the classic tread pattern of the original Mountain Trail, the outsole delivers comfort and cushioning with high shock absorption.
- Stitchdown Construction
- Handcrafted to provide a wider platform, our legendary stitchdown construction offers increased stability underfoot. Many of our stitchdown boots can be recrafted.
- How It Fits
- This EE width is designed to fit an average width foot, similar to a D width. The 650 EE last offers a more relaxed fit for casual, everyday wear while still offering support and stability. Since this style runs a little long, we recommend sizing down a half size for the best fit.
- Recraftable
